Moles appear on areas of the body such as the face, neck, arms, and legs as small dark spots.Medically, moles are called nevus and these clusters of pigment can be evident since birth or develop later in life. Research has shown that exposure to sunlight promotes the development of moles. When a mole appears on a person’s face, it can be considered a beauty mark.
Are they dangerous?
Moles for the most part are harmless, although some individuals do experience skin irritation surrounding moles if they are large enough. Some individuals also believe that moles are pre-cancerous. Still other people simply don’t like the appearance of moles or where they are located on their body and want to remove them without the expense or scarring that takes place when they are removed surgically.
Surgical removal of moles involves either burning or cutting away the mole, both of which have the risk of leaving the skin scarred. There is also the added risk of infection, in addition to the time and expense of opting for surgery as a mole removal method. If a mole has not changed in color or size and is not bleeding, there is no reason to visit a dermatologist for its removal.
Natural treatments you can try at home.
There are a number of natural remedies that are inexpensive and effective in helping to remove unwanted moles. One of the most simple mole removal remedy is to get a fresh clove of garlic and crush it just enough that the juices are activated. Place this next to the mole and cover with a bandage. Replace the fresh clove of garlic and bandage daily until the mole disappears.
Freshly ground coriander mixed with a little spring water into a paste can be spread over moles in order to remove them within several days.
